We used to replace the boosters for this but GM recently released a TSB to stop replacing them and new software will be available first quarter 2021 to eliminate the noise. I think the model 3 (ibooster gen 2) would absolutely fit anywhere a normal booster would fit. This was actually fairly common on Bolt EVs, but the volt uses the same Bosch ibooster assembly.
